2008 Nisei Week Ceramic Exhibition-Update

Here is the promo postcard for this year's Nisei Week Ceramics Exhibition with my featured piece, "AnemoTea".

Ceramics and Earthquake do not mix.

The magnitude 5.4 earthquake in North Orange County we had today is a good reason why "earthquake putty" is a must for people who do ceramics or collect them. My home and gallery is less than 8 miles from the epicenter so we are very close to the shaking.

The only casualty of the quake was this finished raku piece which tipped over from its pedestal, fell and shattered. The other pieces in the gallery and a current work in my studio rode out the quake.

2008 Nisei Week Ceramic Exhibition.

This year, the annual Ceramic Exhibition by the California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild falls on August 16th and 17th, held at the Japanese American Cultural Center in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. The JACC is located at 244 South San Pedro Street, Suite 505, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Tel# (213) 628-2725. Admission is FREE.

I am honored to be selected as the Special Guest Artist by this Guild and will be showcasing 5 of my pieces there. This exhibition will be held in Garden Room A.

The theme for this year's exhibit is "Something Fishy" so my works will reflect this theme in one way or another. This promises to be a fun, albeit, short show. Please stop by to say Hi.

Thanks
Anthony
